Keurig Mini - expired K-Cups/DIY K-cup questions
I bought a Keurig Mini near the end of last year for college, and never had a change to use it - one thing came up, and then another, and it came home untouched, only opened for inspection.
Looking for beef jerky online, led me to looking at tea from the same site, and I remembered the machine. Looking on here then brought me to the three or so threads that mention the Keurig, all favorable. This bodes well for me. I plan to use the included K-Cups come the end of August at the start of next term - try to get into a decent schedule for once. but a few of the cups are already expired, and my green tea cup has lost a little of it's foil curve on the lid (not really a loss, but whatever). Since I know I paid for these 'free' cups in my order, I don't want to waste them, but I do want to know if it's actually safe to drink them? I realize my coffee may be 'stale, etc.' but I figure a few cups of bad coffee won't kill me. Is the same true for tea/cocoa? Also, I've seen those 'make-your-own K-cups' for sale, could someone point me to a reliable site for ordering one please? Thanks for hearing out the early morning ramblings of the sleep-deprived - Kegan |

I don't think you will do any harm using he expired K-cups, but the flavor may not me as fresh. Check eBay for the DIY K cup, thats where I got mine for around $10.

Thanks, can do . Do you need to replace the caps? I see sellers on eBay selling them in lots of 2, I didn't think they went bad.
On yet another related query, does UncleBeanz offer pre-ground coffee beans? |

I do not think that expired k- cup can harm you, but they don,t have the taste you looks for. Now you can find reusable K cup also that you can use over and over again with any coffee you like.

Thanks for that link, Peter; this will help me if any issues should arise when I use the cup.

The difference between the "My K-Cup" and the little plastic things you saw on ebay (that you push into the top of a used K-Cup) is that the My K-Cup pushes the coffee out all sides of the cup instead of the way the normal K-Cups work (which is by pushing it out a little hole in the bottom). I haven't tried either, but it seems like it would change the brewing process that makes the Keurig's coffee so good.

K-Kups are also available at the one place you would EXPECT to have great coffee: Best Buy.
