We're staying at the Golden Nugget . I've heard lots of crazy stories about Fremont St. Next trip we'll spend a little more and stay on the strip . Thank you for all the replies .

I think Fremont is great. Cool old casinos, and that killer light show every night. It sucks if you are in a group and have to head back and forth to the strip all the time.

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay on the strip next time, check out the Imperial Palace. It is not the nicest place on the strip, but its right in the middle, across from Caesers and the Mirage. It is not a dump by any means, its just old. It is way cheaper than its neighbors.
