I found out about safety razors when I was looking into straights, for me the straights take to much upkeep, and for safety razors there is practically none. I however did pick up a a straight at an antique store a couple weeks ago it may be something I try in the future and it was too good of a deal to pass up for $12.

skullnrose, I have a headblade you are welcome to if you want it. I used it for about a week before deciding it wasn't for me I didn't like the fact that you had to push it across the skin it was too easy to press down too much.

There's no way I could pass that up for $12. I like the scales.

Hmm, all this talk for getting rid of a little facial hair!
I never bothered. Mach 3/Gillette Gel and I simply take my time. If you stretch the skin or puff your cheeks out, you get a better shave by making the hair stand up better. Also, washing your face with warm water pre-shaving will soften the hairs, which will help (provided you use a sharp razor!).
