1.) My 6 year old daughter Kara
2.) Finished the Lakefront Marathon (Milwaukee) three weeks ago 3.) It's not an accomplishment yet but in May I'll receive my Ph.D. and that would push the marathon to a distant 3rd. 4.) In H.S. my hockey team won the state tourney ![]() Congrats on all who have quit drinking. I have a lot of alcoholism in my family and it's great to hear success stories ![]() |

Kicked a wicked drug addiction (heroin/cocaine) January 27th 1990
Went from a pretty normal life to losing everything & living on the street. Got clean, got my life back on track, and today own a consulting/engineering corporation. Life is good now, but the journey was tough as hell.

Congrats to everyone on their accomplishments. Like you poker I kicked a nasty heroin addiction and have been sober for about 2 and a half years. Even stayed sober through my 21st birthday. I smoked a great stogie with some great friends

Raising my two daughters, Sheena and Jennifer. And sending them off into the big world to lead their own lives. Sheena is married with two kids and Jennifer just graduated from college and is successfully living on her own.

Raising my two stepdaughters (I'm Dad to them). My reward is my granddaughter.
My second greatest accomplishment is not killing myself doing all the wild stuff I've done. |

Congrats to all the guys who got sober or off drugs. I quit cigs after 15 years and it was hell. I have had friends who had drug/alcohol problems and there is now ways getting of those is harder, hats off to you all. Time for a lighter accomplishment, of course not my greatest (that would be my Ph.D.) but I once derailed an elevator and caused $80K damage to said elevator using nothing more then an 8x8 piece of plywood, nothing malicious, it was a combination of "probably should not have done that" and a damaged safety sensor on the elevator. I was using the plywood to block the beam while loading heavy batteries for a university project into a elevator. The beam was disabled (a HUGE safety violantion), the door closed, and what happened next will remain a mystery to me forever. The plywood was strong enough to force the elevator off the rails and then BEND the rails! PLYWOOD!!! Anyway, as I said, nothing like the accomplishments here, but whenever a topic like this comes up, I always throw it in because so few people in this world, surprsingly, have derailed elevators!

Congratulations to all on your achievements...
Right now my greatest accomplishments are moving 1/2 way across the world to follow a dream & 5yrs latter receiving my doctorate. This last year I talked myself in and out of packing up and going home several times, but I stuck it out & learned a lot about myself & what I am capable of achieving. |

I gave up drinking almost 21 yrs ago, and quit cigarettes 15 yrs ago, but started smoking cigars. I had to use a 12 step program with the drinking but it worked for me.

I have to update my greatest accomplishment to graduating the basic 55 day part of the Border Patrol Academy, and having 4 weeks left before graduating from the Spanish portion and finally being pushed out into the field.
