I know they cant be purchased in the US just wondering what the difference is since the lables look exactly the same. Looking on websites that sell "Real Cubans" but not in the US.

They use NON CUBAN tobacco in the ones you see at the store. Foe example a Non Cuban Montecristo is made in the Dominican Republic out of mostly Dominican tobacco and a Cuban Montecristo is made of Cuban tobacco in Cuba

The ones you see in the US are made from tobacco NOT from Cuba, but anywhere else, really. There are many that prefer the taste of Cuban grown tobacco to tabacco grown elsewhere. Just like the same grape variety may make a different tasting wine if grown in France compared to Napa valley. I'm not saying Cuban made cigars are "better", but they do have a different characteristic to them that is uniquely their own. Hope that helps.
