Default Lighter Repair Sources?

I have a Colibri Quantum Evolve and i love it to death.

It started having problems about 3 months ago so i just let it sit in an accessory box. I pull it out last night and the stupid thing wont spark but once every 20 times and it still doesn't light. I know the gas/flow is fine and my local B&M confirms that.

My local guy tells me that the quartz system is shot (i assume he means the piezo thing-a-ma-jig).

Now, I cannot return the lighter to Colibri to have fixed because they JUST went under (bankrupt). Does anyone know of a good place to send a lighter out to that will fix a Colibri?

Like i said, i've trouble-shot it and determined that it is the piezo/quarts mechanism.... Who has the tools/knowhow to replace it?

I am interested in having the lighter fixed. It's very important to me. I understand most places carry them for 50% off but i think i could still fix it for under 40.00

Besides, this was my first lighter. Thanks!

I don't know, really. The only thing I can think of is take it to your B&M and trade it for a Xikar lighter. You get 20% off a Xikar if you bring in a busted Colibri.

I'd be interested if someone knows a place, for future reference.

Colibri's lighter division, name, and all associated legal crap is currently being bid on by several companies and individuals. It's expected that the lighter division will be sold and re-opened (maybe under a new name) within 6-12 months.

At least that's what our ex-rep tells us. He's waiting to hear more for the possibility of a new job with whoever takes it over.

There was a Lighter Repair shop in the Wall Street area. The Name escapes me now.

One Last thought The Nibo & Colbri are almost duplicates. Call or Email NIBO.
Good Luck,

Repairing a Colibri? You must be quite sentimental about it. It's goingo to be at least $50 to fix it I'd imagine... $30 just to look at it.

How did I know this was going to be a colibri that needed fixed?

Hope you get things sorted out. I highly recommend a Blazer or Xikar. I own both and neither of them have ever given me any trouble. (Except I left my xikar in MO, but it's coming back to me as it was at a friend's house and he is holding onto it for me).

The best fix for this problem is place the lighter in the trash can and buy a new one.
