I'm a huge Stars Wars fan, but I heard bad things about the movie (it's already out on DVD and BR - not a good sign) and am afraid to watch the series for the same reasons stated above.

Lucas said the movie wasn't intended to be a blockbuster but rather an introduction to the new series.

I watched it in BR the other day. 2/10 - I will punch George Lucas in the face for ruining my childhood memories. Not just for this abomination, but for Jar Jar as well.
