The lower parts kits are interchangeable. I would just buy a complete upper.

Also, for AR15.com, I believe if you register for a e-mail at mail.com, you can then register on ARFCOM. Then once you are signed up, you can change it to your hotmail account

Leaning towards a 1:9, most likely chrome.

I usually go with a 1:7 twist. It helps stabilized the heavier grain bullets that you use for self-defense (Hornady TAP) 1:9 is good as well.

Thanks for the email. I have it copied if you want to take it down for privacy's sake.

This gun will not likely ever see self-defense duty, except for a SHTF situation. Due to the proximity of other houses, I stay with a 12 ga for general defense work.

Perry, not sure what I'd check with the BATF? I've got a good idea of the legalities of the project, if thats what you meant. I'm more concerned with the nuts and bolts of the project and finding any available parts.
