Re: Your favorite gin
No gin I have tried has as much flavor as Citadel Gin. All other gins are just poser gins. Hendricks is good but I like a salty nos and a slice of cucumber just does not cut it.
I am only allowed one a day and my go to through 38 years of taste testing is Citadel. tt |

It's even better without the Diet Sierra Mist.

Re: Your favorite gin
Dr. Bombay for me. Sapphire preferably, or the reg. I do enjoy an experiment occasionally, and Hendricks has been taunting me.
Tanq will do in a pinch, and with tonic and a half a Key lime. I don't like "pre-limed" anything. |

Re: Your favorite gin
Bombay Sapphire is the staple for me. Tangueray Ten is a tad smother, but lacks the flavor of Sapphire.
I do like regular Bombay and Beefeater for budget gin. I've yet to try Hendrick's, but I've heard good things about it. I have to have tonic. I can take or leave the lime, either is fine. On a side note I've found that Bolivar Royal Coronas slight citrus notes are complemented by a good gin and tonic like Sapphire. For this combo, I would recommend leaving the slice of lime out. It can be a little overpowering and even cause the lime juice to get on the wrapper after you squeeze it. I've made that mistake. |

Re: Your favorite gin
i acquired the taste for gin by "just drinking it" because it's all i could steal (that i could palette at the time) from my dad's cabinet when i was 16. Gordons London Dry Gin to be exact.... i know if i took his Bombay he would have had my colyouns.

Re: Your favorite gin
I hate gin, but if I have to have gin in my long island's, I insist that the bartender use tangueray.

Re: Your favorite gin
i'm traditionally a Tanqueray guy for my gin 'n tonics, but lately have been on a let's try and find good low-priced stuff (per Esquire's recommendations) and have found that Gordon's is really pleasant. i like it very much with the tonics.
i still remain a boodle's fan for my martinis. |
