Vendor humidors are the cheapest they can find. You would be hard pressed to eliminate the smell from it. I think you should do yourself a favor get a Tupperware and some cedar strips while you wait on a quality humidor to arrive. As Tom said cheap humidors will take good care of and at a fair price.
