In my opinion cuban cigars most of the time lose there strength after 10 + years. But what they do develop is a richness and a almost chewy texture.
As far as Cuban cigars using aged tobacco. The Gran Reserva cigars are rolled with tobacco with a minimum of five years. There maybe something to look at in the aging of tobacco in piles vs aging already rolled cigars!
