Warped little havana
Kyle asked for a few reviewers of the new Warped blend, the Little Havana, a cigar made with a very beautiful and dark Ecuadorian maduro wrapper, a binder from the Jalapa Valley in Nicaragua and filler from both the Jalapa and the Condega valley in Nicaragua. I was one of the lucky reviewers and smoked the 48 ring 5.5” long corona gorda.
When I opened the envelop I instantly noticed the beauty of these dark cigars and the bright green of the band which gave a nice contrast. The cigar looks a bit silky, feel well constructed. The aroma reveals that this cigar is very young, as I could clearly smell ammonia with some hay and grass. The predraw is fine and leaves a dry taste on my lips. After lighting the cigar I could taste coffee and lots of it with soon a little hint of leather on the background for just a few puffs. The overall flavor is quite spicy. After a centimeter the coffee fades away for just a few puffs and then returns. The texture of the smoke is a bit creamy and wooly in my mouth. Instead of a leathery aftertaste I can now taste some chocolate. The flavor is very consistent, the coffee is a good and steady base and halfway the chocolate grows a little bit in strength. After 2/3rd I can taste some nuts too and the grande finale starts off with some pepper with the coffee and then the nutty flavor replaces the pepper and grows considerably in strength. The nutty flavor is a bit salty. Right from the start I had a bit of a crooked burn, not much thought and it didn’t need correcting. The further I smoked, the better the burn. The ash is silver gray and amount of smoke produced is just fine. Even though this is a very young cigar, the date on the band revealed that the cigar was not even 4 months old when I smoked it, I loved it and nubbed it. I would call this a medium to full bodied cigar with lots of flavor. Would I buy this cigar again? No doubt about it, I need to stock up on those. Construction: 8 / 10 Draw: 7 / 10 Appearance: 9 / 10 Smoke & ash: 7 / 10 Burn: 7 / 10 Aroma (first part) 7 / 10 Aroma (middle part) 8 / 10 Aroma (last part) 8 / 10

Re: Warped little havana
I got them from Kyle (warped cigars) here on the board, he was looking for reviewers. Their website is currently under construction but as far as I know they will be online in a few weeks and the cigars will be available then for a very reasonable price.

Yet another great review.
I'll be keeping an eye out for these when they get their web site up. |
