For my part, on Monday my desktop exhibited a remarkable flash, followed immediately by a popping sound before dying and filling the room with an acrid stench that's only now dying down.
I pulled the power cable with my feet (faster than bending over) and thought about it. I've spent too damn much life playing games over the last 35 years. I'm neither going to diagnose nor replace the thing. I'll pull the hard drives and attach them to my laptop to suck what information I can out of them, then put the whole thing in the basement to hold open doors. enough is enough. |

But I've just about literally spent 35 years getting home from work/school, plopping myself in front of the computer and pew pew pewing away, sucking away entire days in the blink of an eye. I do so enjoy it. But it's been at the expense of an awful lot. I even bought a mac laptop last week so I could write on the train. Between that and a couple other things that have gone on in the last week. I'll take the synchronicity.
