I always like to keep the bands to cigars that I've had for the first time. I've got an overfilling matchbox right now and I'm going to have to store them somewhere else now.
Does anyone else do the same or am I just insane? Last edited by Chompers; 01-14-2009 at 02:56 PM. |

![]() How do you get the bands to cigars you haven't had? Do you go to the B&M, pull off the bands, and walk out? I keep bands to some cigars that I smoke. Depends on if I like it or not.

I paste all the bands of cigars I've smoked into a scrapbook. Eventually I'll leave out duplicates, but for now it's every stogie I smoke.

I have the band from every banded Cuban cigar I've ever smoked. Have them in a glass display jar.
Gave all the NCs to someone who was crafting a project.

I usually keep my bands. I donated a handful to my local shoppe. They had a guy make a 3 string cigar box guitar and it was finished off with cigar bands covering the surface.

I never saved them until about 6 months ago. I started filling up a jar with them. Now I wish I had saved them the whole time. It's cool to just look back at the cigars you've smoked.

I save 99% of them. Since I've purchased a few boxes recently I have been throwing out bands that I have a lot of. Never throw away a first timer though.

The bottle caps go around the brim of my beach hat during the summer

Have one fairly good sized pistachio jar full and a pretzel jar from Sam's club about 3/4 of the way full.
I would say I have 90% of the bands since 1997 when I started smoking. |

Numerous cigar boxes full of every one. The little artsy lady I live with may do something with them someday, but she still frowns on the lengths I go to collect them.

On a total random whim about a week ago, I just started keeping mine. Not sure what I plan on doing with them but I'm keeping them.
