Everyone was praising Philly for the offer but most failed to mention it could have cost them not only the $110 million but also up to 4 first round picks. The loss of those picks could cripple any team for a long time.


BTW, I have to admit I think the Wings are in big trouble if they can't somehow get a top 4 (for them) d-man. That playoff streak might be in jeopardy.

The amount is said to be 110 M$, so it would be 7.85 M$ per year, about the same as his previous salary (7,5 M$). It would only yield a compensation of two 1st round picks, a 2nd and a 3rd.

No secret Boyle is being shopped by the Sharks especially after signing Stuart. He's 36 and has 2 years I think left at over 6 mill. After the Quincey committed armed robbery getting almost 8 million for 2 years. Maybe the Wings will make a play. Rumor mill says Preds and Wings both kicking tires. If I'm the Sharks I play hard ball as he has interest from some teams in the East also. Hope they make it hurt a little if its the Wings or Preds.
