Honduran Selection Blend 1945 - Mr. Bundles review
Background: As I stated on this post I ordered these in May 2007 from Mr. Bundles based on Uncle Mikey's recommendation.
If I remember correctly I paid appx $30-40 for a bundle. They came unbanded. These are my "go to" morning cigar but alas, I have 3 remaining. Bundles can be a hit or miss but I can say with no hesitation that this bundle was my best cigar score. Let's start the review: Pre-light: Firm but not hard, well made cigar. Almost no smell on the foot. Easy draw. 1st Third: First few puffs welcome me with loads of creamy and almond flavor. Smooth and velvety smoke. A few touch ups are required but it may be due to the way I toasted the cigar. Near the end of the 1st Third, I get hints of sweetness and cedar in the background. This cigar is starting awesome! 2nd Third: Almond nuttiness slowly going away. Still smooth with no harshness. This cigar gives out a good amount of smoke but remains smooth and cool. Flavors start to turn to coffee and cocoa to the front. Last Third: Totally diggin this cigar! Coffee and cocoa still in the front with cedar slowly coming back in the background. These flavors remain until the end. Conclusion: I love this cigar! It's one of the mildest cigars I have in my collection and after resting 5 years in my humi, the flavors remain but without the harshness associated with younger cigars. I really wish Uncle Mikey would carry this blend again, I would without hesitation, order 5 bundles right away. |
