Barton's Irish Whiskey $14.99/1L Made by Cooley, better than both Jameson and Bushmill's base offerings IMO. I alternate between Barton's and Powers ($19/750mL), but I have 1 opened and 2 unopened Liters of Barton's in the cupboard right now, so I guess it is my current favorite.
Some other reviews and awards if MY opinion isn't good enough for you. ![]() http://www.tastings.com/scout_spirits.lasso?id=194881 http://www.whiskyintelligence.com/20...-competitions/ I also enjoy alternating between $15-$20 bourbons such as Weller Antique S.B. from Cork and Bottle, Evan Williams S.B., Four Roses Yellow, Very Old Barton, or Old Granddad 114. N.A. gin is as good as others have mentioned, for the longest time a nearby store had it for $10 with a $2 mfr coupon hanging from the neck of the bottle. It hasn't replaced Hendrick's for me, but at 1/3 the price when mixed with tonic and lime it just makes sense. For sipping rum it is Flor De Cana Grand Reserve (7 year). I like this better than the Ron Z or the Z brands and its around $18 - $20 a bottle. |
