Default 809 cigars

Just wandering if there decent cigars. I always have friends that smoke with me and I don't want to give them any of my nicer sticks. There on sale at my local cigar shop for under 30 for a box and 5 more free cigars. So 25 cigars for right around
$30 should I go for it?

Never heard of them. For that cheap, I have a feeling they aren't great, but who knows?

I have never heard of them either but here is a picture I believe.

It also looks like Thompson really pushes these. Here is a snippet from a review I found online from a fellow BOTL. (For those newer guys, I would not order from Thompson as they hound you like hell and mostly have higher prices than all other vendors. I just recently moved TWICE (due to school) and they have found me. I get a catalog every month even though I specifically have called them twice to remove myself from the list. Now I just use it as packing paper or to do any kind of dirty jobs on haha.)

Quote:
The pre-fire draw produced no flavor. The smell, nothing special, about 2 wrungs up the ladder from a Tampa Jewel, or Philly. The draw however, was one of the smoothest I'd ever experienced (though I am new to this). Every draw producing thick clouds of grey/white smoke. With hints of coffee, and chocolate. After the 1st third the coffee flavor seems to wear thin, and remind me of a cigarette, which stayed until the end. The burn was very good it stayed true through the entire cigar only getting weird once towards the end but corrected it's self before I was done.

Final thoughts. I guess it's not terrible for a $1.50 cigar, and maybe I'm snooty since the first cigar I ever smoked was a Fuente kinda set the bar high from the get go.

I would smoke this again if it was gifted to me, however I would not buy them again.

Not much other information could be found other than it seems that they are made by Felipe Gregorio.

How about tampa sweethearts?

People seem to like them and they are only a couple extra bucks.

For my mooches, I like to buy bundles or 2nds and hand them out like candy. My days of giving out $10 sticks to randos are over.

You should check out the cheap smoke thread for good suggestions of, well duh, cheap smokes.

http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showth...+smokes+thread

And if you like maduro cigars check out Mac's Maduro Banter thread.

Although they are not all cheap (though he has a budget category) he suggests some very good maduro cigars. He is our resident maduro whore haha.

We have a popular saying around here, "smoke what you like, like what you smoke". The same is true here. If you try one and you enjoy it then buy a bundle. Who are we to tell you what to smoke? Everyone has unique tastes which is what makes this hobby so fun as well as keeps all of the cigar companies in business.

They might be the best $1.50 NC I have smoked. Really surprising. I would recommend the Red label Sumatra.

Tampa humidor has then for $30 a box right now. The red ones are mixed filler and the black/blue are long filler.

They are an ok stick. For a hair over a dollar they are a great stick!

Sumatra is definitely the better of the two. I keep a few on hand for moochers.

They are made by Pride cigars which here in tampa and some of florida are selling well...they arent really out in the rest of the US yet. Their new Pride Bandolero is a nice stick!

I let my buddy's smoke whatever they want, on the condition they smoke the whole thing. Thats the best part of cigars is sharing the experience and hoping one day they slip down the slippery slope like I did.

My buddy hands out Cuban Delights to randoms. They are dead cheap and a really nice flavor and aroma which is great for noobies. Very solid, not much complexity. But for 80 cents a stick or cheaper, how can you go wrong?

They are out in a few accounts but for the most part they are not a "national" brand.

On a side note have you tried their new Bandolero? Its got a nice kick to it.
