Default Tennessee Whisk(e)y: How do you Drink it?

I'm interested to know how people in here take their Tennessee Whiskey.
Two main brands are George Dickel and Jack Daniels. Dickel no. 12 is good stuff and Jack has some good stuff too (but I don't like no. 7).

How do you drink it? Neat, on the rocks, a drop of water, or do you always use it for mixed drinks?

I usually mix mine with diet coke or else i drink it neat.

I don't care for either one neat. I used to drink Jack a good bit in college, but don't care for it that much anymore. When I do have it, it's always with a cola, mixed. That even applies to Gentleman Jack. I guess Jack and turnip greens fall in the same category for me. Both are items I drank/ate a lot when I was younger, but just no longer enjoy the taste of! Strange? Probably!

Like Chevy Chase, I lick the lemon, snort the salt and throw Tennessee Whiskey over my shoulder.

Not strange, I think we've all drank Jager before.....I think we all stopped drinking Jager.

Same with Goldschlager and fireball.

Absinthe anyone?

I cannot drink regular Jack, it's awful. I drink Gentleman Jack neat but if I'm at a bar probably with coke because otherwise they don't understand giving me a glass and they give me a shot glass

Sipping on a shot glass

I like my whiskey like I like my women. 18 years old and mixed up with coke.

Eh, that joke works better with scotch. Whatever, it's late and I'm tired.

I used to be a Tennessee Whiskey ho. Now days I mostly drink rum. When I do have some Jack or Dickel it is OTR or neat.

Where do you go that they don't know how to pour Gentleman's?

Myself, it depends on which Jack I'm drinking. Regular jack (green or black lable) is always mixed with Coke. I have friends that use Ginger Ale but I just can't understand it. Gentleman's it depends on my mood if I mix or straight up. Single Barrel is always one cube of ice please!!

So is it too early to have one at 7:30am? This got me thirsty

After spending 2 years of college staying up too late, sleeping in too late, and waking up to a cup of coffee with Jack in it, I can't even think about touching the stuff. For me its Kentucky Bourbons or Single Malts from across the pond, or very nice Irish Whiskeys. If you get a chance, you should try Redbreast Irish Whiskey, it's amazing.

It's bourbon that goes through an extra process, therefore it's better (at least to me)
