Dom, I too found Bob's capacity estimates to be pretty accurate.

I have had mine for about 4 years and have never used (nor needed) beads in it.

I like the deeper option better than the wide, but that's personal preference.

One of my four fans is a bit noisy, but my humi isn't in a room I spend much time in, so it doesn't bother me too much.
