Looks like unlike the first iPad, the second is going to flood the market on 3/11.

Best Buy and Walmart already have them on their websites available on 3/11.

Looks like Best Buy will only have the Wi-Fi and the AT&T 3G.
They don't show the Verizon version on their website.
Walmart appears to list both AT&T and Verizon.

While I have no issues with AT&T, I think I may end up with the Verizon version in case I want to sell it in the future as may be more popular with folks with poor AT&T reception.

Best Buy will have them for sale when the store opens on Friday.

Apple will have them for sale at the store after 5 p.m.

Best Buy is the best deal.
They qualify for 18 months same as cash, no interest financing.

Looks like demand is expected to be quite high for this new one.
However, they are saying there should be plenty to go around as this time, they will be offered by AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart.
Looks like all may have them available upon the store opening on Friday, well before the Apple store starts selling them at 5.
I am rethinking the online ordering and considering hitting Best Buy when they open on Friday.
If I can't get one, will order online after that and then take my chance at the Apple store.
Maybe I am being foolish but I am hoping the one I want is the one most folks don't.

Target will sell on Sunday when store opens at 10 a.m.

Best Buy on Friday when it opens at 10 a.m.

AT&T on Friday when it opens at 9 a.m.

Apple on Friday at 5 p.m.

Three of the four are across the street from each other and a couple of miles away for me.
Apple is 3-4 miles away.

Lots of options for Friday.
Heck with online ordering.

Has anyone seen what these things are going for on eBay?
Are people plain dumb?
Why would you pre order, from someone who is ordering on line just the same way you can, and pay a couple of hundred dollars over retail?
And the economy is bad?

People do when they do not have a credit card but have P*yPal account so they cannot order directly from a retailer. Also, there are some people who are outside the US who are not allowed to buy high-tech products from a retailer, but can always find someone on eb*y to sell to them... Often times these guys will have mail drops in the US that forward all mail/packages to them (Asia, Middle East, etc.).

And thene there are just the run-of-the-mill morons...

The majority of the ones I watched were in the US.
There were a few that were international.
I suppose the credit part would make sense in that you can use PP to deduct from your checking but I thought you needed a credit card on file for PP?

That's the thing -- these guys claim that they are in the US and have a US mail drop, but they are outside.

I ran into this when I listed my old iPhone on eb*y -- I stated US only in the listing. One guy responded, claimed he was in the US, but he was really in Sudan and had a mail drop. I can't remember how I found out about it... I think he had some P*yPal issues with his Sudanese bank...
