We started drinking Dark and Stormy's. I am not much for mixed drinks unless I am at clubs, but I love this cocktail at home . Goes great with cigars too!
2 oz Dark rum 8 oz ginger beer Pour rum over ice, add ginger beer, and stir.

So, is Black Seal any good as just a sipping rum? Or is it best mixed?

Black Seal is great for mixed rum drinks and is like $10 a bottle at Bermuda Duty Free! We got a take away case on my girlfriend's recent trip there this summer. Yes, it is. I wanted to avoid saying only one brand of rum will do. There are a couple of brands of ginger beer from the island too.

Your one of the few I ever heard of that likes this. A friend turned me on to it about five yrs ago. Gosling rum and also a splash of sprite. May have to make run to the ABC store.
