Sad hearing about this. I was only a kid when our hometown Tigers won it all in '84, but I'll never forget watching with my dad. Sparky was Tiger's baseball for my entire childhood and well into my teens. We will miss him.

BTW, I still don't get why #11 isn't retired in Detroit. It's a shame. Especially if they do it after he has passed.
