The sampler on that link offers a good chance to try a few lines. Was going to be my suggestion as well.

If you want to try some Tats without spending a lot, look for the new Petit Cazadores Reserva and the Verocu #5. They are both great little cigars for around $4+ and will give you the chance to taste the broadleaf wrappers and the popular red label verocu line at half the cost of the bigger cigars.

I know New Havana Cigars has 5ers for sale, but if you don't find any singles anywhere, you should email NHC to see if he could sell you a small sampler.

For my money, I prefer the red label (Havana VI) over the brown.

For me, the best of the regular production brown labels is the new 7th. My favorite viola and I think he best in the brown label.

If you like full bodied, full flavored cigars, don't get a JJ. They are very mild.

7th, J21, Petite Caz, all good, as are most of the rest of the Tats of course.

The majority of Tat's are not cheap when compared to say General cigars. But they are imo much more tasty. I would say the best representation of Tatuaje is the J21. I have had most every Tat and that is the one that I associate with Tat's.

Thought I would give an update.

I finally picked up a few 5ers and a sampler. I've so far tried the El Triunfador and Red. Both were on the mild to medium side but full of flavor. . . I think I am starting to get the hype.

Start with a good ole brown label. any will do, but my favorites are the Noella and the Especiale. And grab a red label too, I prefer the Victorias.

Nice selection there. I'm partial to the Cabaiguan. I like his other stuff fine, but nothing has been as consistent as the Cabs.

Had a brown label PC just a couple days ago that I almost set down. I'm glad I didn't because it became OK after an inch or so, but it didn't impress me at all, not to mention the HUGE stem that was "pigtailed" right under where I cut the cap.

If I can make a suggestion, try using a punch on the white label instead of a cutter. The first I smoked with a cut, and I got tobacco bits in my mouth for the entire smoke (I actually put it down half way because of it)

68TriShiled suggest using a punch and the next one I had was a completely different smoke. Very good for a $3-$4 cigar
