Had this POS for several months before its appreciated demise. A kewl car if you put a fiberglass body and hell replace everything else while your at it. Few cars ever made worst than a Vega. This is 73 and is in much better shape than the one I had 30 years ago.

I bought a junky Vega when I was in high school for $200, was on my way to the auction to sell it and the damn thing blew up.

My very first car was left to me by my Grandfather:

1960 Studebaker Lark, Beige with a L-6 Flathead engine & 3-on-the-Tree standard tranny. I drove this car for 2 years until I blew the engine.

My next purchase was sort of a "muscle car":

1965 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S with an auto tranny. The 225 slant six engine was bored to 234 and had a 4 bbl Holley, headers and an exhaust dump. This car would run low 17's and regualrly beat V8's at the strip.

After the service I briefly had one of these:

1957 BMW Isetta 300... I kept it for a while, but it never ran very well. It had a 298cc motorcycle engine, 4 spd tranny and chain drive connected between the gearbox and the rear axle. Popularly known as "bubble car" "egg mobile" and "coffin car", I never drove it much - it was unnerving not having anything in front of the door and steering wheel!

Pretty oddball cars, in my opinion....

The Gumpert Apollo. I fell in love with it after seeing it on Top Gear.

Take an MGB .. wash in hot water, shrink it down and voila, an MG Midget.

I had 2 .. loved them, despite their being complete and utter pieces of s***.

Lucas electonics .... Q-Why do the British drink warm beer? A-Because Lucas makes refrigerators.

Oddest car I have owned is: 1985 Maserati Biturbo E. Love that choke!

**************
If you are in the market for a collector odd ball car for relatively short money, may I suggest the Chevy Cosworth VegaThis will become one of the most sought after America muscle cars of the era. Cool looks, Cosworth Engine, Rare... Bet your house on this one! Not many mid-to-late 70's car have exploded on the aution scene yet, but they will...
