Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
Had a bit of a rebound with the kids' b'day party followed by 2 days off, but I'm starting back down. I've gotten into the habit of doing an hour workout on my days off.
So what does everyone do for workouts? I started off with Wii Fit Plus, thinking it would be a good low impact workout. Now that I've dropped some weight, I think I'd like to up the intensity. I'm not ready for P90X or Insanity, but I'd like to get up more of a sweat than the WFP exercises can provide. Any ideas? Posted via Mobile Device |

Keep up the good work bro!
I have a Muay Thai heavy bag in the garage that I'll do a couple of rounds with to really get the heart pumping. I also have a Total Gym that I use to do resistance exercises while watching TV etc. That's about it for me lately. |

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
I"m doing Tony Horton's Power 90 program. It came before P90X. I like it. You definitely work up a sweat on all workouts, 2 different cardio and sculpt. Each one is 45mins or less. Worth checking out.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
Made up for missing my workout yesterday. Did the cardio program and the ab ripper 100 (up to about 80 of the 100), then was still feeling energetic and did a 2.3mile run. I signed up for a 5K walk/run in October so I need to start training for that. Should be doable now. I think had I not worked out I could've done the whole 5k today.
Now lets see if this puts me back under 220. Been up a couple lbs this week. Not sure why either. Eating good, exercising. Could be putting on muscle? Who knows. We'll see come Saturday.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
Walking is how I lost the bulk of my weight this year. If you can get up to or below a 15min/mile, you'll get a great workout in, plus sweat your a$$ off.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
minus two this week. Prolly not realistic to be under 300 by the SH, but I'll be damn close. As long as I keep losing, I'm happy. Major goal is 250 by next April. Very doable methinks, even with the Holidays and mama's cookies aplenty!
It's amazing how much of a workout ping pong can be. I'm beat and dripping wet after a few hours of hitting that little ball!

Congrats Hugh and Jeff
Walked by a mirror today and noticed a real difference in my love handles. I just get sexier by the day! Weigh in on Sunday, been real good this week, and hoping to get some walking in tomorrow. I'm getting to the point where I'm looking forward to my weigh in, instead of dreading it!

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
193.8 this morning. I was playing with my diet, trying to see how much potassium I can take. I played myself right into "could barely move last night" and I spent most of the day laid up.
It's back to cereal, noodles and rice for old Dad here. I actually started yesterday morning, but it didn't spare me from the nonsense that comes from not being vigilant. Today I feel like a washing machine stuck on spin cycle that fell off the back of a truck, and that's a huge improvement.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
Congrats Hugh, Jeff, Dom and Scott. Lots of good news going around it seems.
One thing I've noticed for myself as I'm progressing down this path, is that I'm breaking my addiction to food. I"m still a foodie at heart, but I"m not constantly thinking about it like I used to. That's made it easier to go from meal to meal without having huge cravings and being able to deal with a bit of a hungry feeling. It's not a natural reaction now to get a snack. Official weigh in tomorrow morning. I hope the success I've had so far this week carries over one more day.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
amazing that i didn't gain any weigh last week in nova scotia. Actually down a tiny bit. It was almost impossible to 100% stick to it, but i was like 98% - still, we'll see what it says tmrw, cuz today i'm home and will be buying a lot of meats.

Re: Losing Weight with Starscream
You're pretty close there Dom. It's amazing to see my side profile in a mirror and not see that big a$$ I carried around for 25+ years. Same for the gut. It's those little things that are keeping me motivated and putting a smile on my face.
