No, it usually doesn't snow quite that early there. However, I love to watch people sweat about the cooler climate up there. Yes, a light and/or medium weight jacket might be appropriate. You could have anything from 40-80 degrees there in the middle of September.

I just enjoy ribbing people who do not like the cold.
