Yes, I absolutely believe that the drink and eats had an impact.

I typically like to do reviews early in the day with just water on the side so as not to impact the flavors. I did note that after the quesadilla, the flavors I detected shifted but in a good way - I'm sure that following that, my palate readjusted from the previous 90 minutes, letting me freshly perceive the cigar.
