As for the movie industry, I'd say they know their target audience pretty well (it just isn't me anymore).

I was an English Lit major in school and we studied graphic novels in some of my courses.





As far as the Superman issue goes, it's not as big an issue as everyone's making it out to be. He renounced his citizenship to stop Iran from declaring war on the US. I'm willing to bet Clark Kent didn't renounce his citizenship.
I know that we all grew up with Superman fighting for truth, justice, and the AMERICAN WAY, but he's a global icon and those of us morons who still read comics and graphic novels know that he saves the world (and the universe on occasion) many times over, not just the US.
