(and yes, I think this is more important than the royal wedding) :r |
Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
Oh great, Superman is a commie now.

Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
I thought he was an illegal alien anyway?
|
Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
I never liked DC comics, anyway.

Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
And on a related note, if Supe dons a UN baby blue unitard, he will match a certain Zero Halli and will become fairly ineffectual. Coinkydink? I think not. ;)
DC selling out to PC instead of taking on any issues, perhaps? I may need to read the issue to see what the context says, but I would guess it is more "Kumbayah singing World Police" PC. It has become an evil thing to be steadfastly American. Or an unabashedly proud American. Even for Kal-El. Sad, really. |
Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
I want to see his birth certificate.

Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
He can go home if he doesn't like it here too.
And, who the hell is still reading comic books? Hasn't that breed of moron died off yet? |

Comic books, or graphic novels, have far more interesting storylines than anything on tv today. Since all(well most) of these superhero movies have made so much money, I guess you would have to consider those that went to see them morons too, huh? As for StuperMan, so eat Krytonite! |
Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
I moron'd myself to all the Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and Ironman movies. The Hulk, too. I loved that show when I was a kid, I was truly sad when Bill Bixby died.
I'm looking forward to Thor, too. I hope it doesn't suck. :D |

Well, I knew as soon as I posted that it was going to piss someone off - but then again I studied literature in college and still read a lot of books and none of them have cartoons in them. ;s
Don't worry, I have become a cigar snob too since joining CA. As for the movie industry, I'd say they know their target audience pretty well (it just isn't me anymore). |

Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
I don't read comic books anymore (maybe 30 years ago?), Rick. It's only been a few years ago that I learned of "graphic novels". I don't read them, but I looked into them, and they are infinately cool. They have a huge following of adults, because they're full of real content, both story-wise and art-wise. While it may not be my bag, I can sure understand why someone else would like them.
If you picked up cigar snobbery here, you definately missed something along the way. If there's one thing that's heard more than any other, it's "smoke what you like, like what you smoke". It's a simple respect for people's pursuit of happiness. I don't think you pissed anyone off at all. If anything, your comment may have disappointed a few, but that's just my guess. Smoke what you like, my brother. :tu |
