Re: Origin of User Names?
My username is my real name.
Pnoon is his first initial and last name. Longknocker is.. well... Icehog3 is the team he plays for. Correct me if I'm wrong, Peter, Greg, and Tom. Cool idea for a thread.

GWN = Great White North, as in the often-frozen place where Bob and Doug hail from.
In hindsight, I'd probably choose something else now, since some may suggest it's possibly racist, but that wasn't the intent.

Re: Origin of User Names?
Emjaysmash is a username that I've had since second grade. It was originally mjsmash, using "mj" my first and middle initial and also my nickname, and "Smash" the title of the first CD I ever bought- Smash by The Offspring.
mj has been lengthened to emjay because I eventually ran into a problem with someone already using "mjsmash" (not on this forum) and the change stuck. whew.

I live in East Texas and I'm a land surveyor. I was going to use my nickname, Tuff, but I saw someone else on here has TxTuff.

Re: Origin of User Names?
I'm BlackDog because when I first had to create a user name for eBay many years ago (I was on eBay early) I was stumped what to call myself, and happened to be drinking a Black Dog ale. Viola! A new internet user was born.
I lost the middle space somewhere along the line because I made a mistake registering on a bulletin board, but it wouldn't let me re-register with the same user name. So I dropped the space so I could re-register. Since then I've made all my registrations without the space.
