I was at an antique store in WI a couple of weeks ago and I came across this Belinda box. Paid $9 for it. Probably not worth that much but thought it was cool.
![]() Love that it says you have to sell for more then 20 cents. ![]() ![]()

Nice! Especially the size (three-pack of Churchills)...how often do you see a vintage box in that size?

Very cool! Is there any indication on the box as to what year it is from?

What a great find! I find it especially interesting that the commonly referenced online Cuban cigar "encyclopedia" doesn't mention the churchill vitola--not only is your find great, it might also be a new discovery! I wonder if MRN mentions this vitola.
Also, based on my limited knowledge, the box appears to be pre-revolution (1960): in the second picture you can see the very top part of the double-ovaled "MADE IN HAVANA-CUBA" stamp. This stamp was not used after the revolution. |

That and the burned in class G tax marking places it probably between 1959 and 1962 according to the info on Tony Hyman's page: http://www.nationalcigarmuseum.com/D...ban_Boxes.html Last edited by T.G; 09-27-2011 at 12:33 PM. |

I'm looking more at the box and what really impresses me is that it still has the original cedar shield that went on top of the cigars. Five decades and it was never damaged, lost or separated from the rest of the box. |
