Re: Second Firearm Thread...

I took advantage of this and picked up my first shotgun this week! Less than $200 for a 870 12 Gauge. Should serve me well as I get my hunting license and begin down that path.

Frog Morton on the Bayou

It's rare that I put something in my pipe that blows me away. I have lot of stuff that I like, but few that make a lasting impression.

Whilst in Chicago on a work trip I had to make a pilgrimage...

Re: Asylum Secret Santa 2017 (Pipes)

I'd be down to wait a bit longer too? Plus 7 would leave an odd man out.

Re: Looking For A Grill...

I worked at a high end grill manufacturer, their grills started at $13,000. Even if I had unlimited money I would probably still go for a Weber. When I moved out of the city, I was gifted a Weber...

Re: New Pipe Time

Christened this in with some vintage Anniversary Kake from H&H, my all time favorite pipe tobacco. I think I'll be enjoying this pipe for many many years to come.

Plus the girlfriend doesn't mind...

New Pipe Time

Stopped by my favorite tobacco shop of all time, Iwan Ries in Chicago. Wasn't planning on picking up a new pipe, just some new tins, and some stuff for our upcoming secret santa. But I got talking...

Underground Railroad: Halfway through this and I really like it. Historical fiction at its best!

Re: Sous vide

Looks great! I understand the desire for a bit higher temp. I've noticed that some stuff comes out a bit odd from a texture standpoint with Sous Vide, even if it's technically cooked at the right...

Re: What cigar did you smoke today VI?

Pulled a random out of the box today, EP Carrillo Encantos. Not a ton of nuance, but smoked great. Up until the final third when it plugged up and I had to lay it down.

Re: Sous vide

Pork is by far my favorite sous vide meat. Chops, tenderloin, belly. It really lets you be comfortable with how well cooked the meat is without drying it out. I'm hoping to get my hands on some wild...

Re: Sous vide

Bought a broken vacuum sealer on Amazon, so in the mean time I've been using the water immersion method. I'm really surprised by how easy it is, and how well it works. If anyone is worried about...

Re: Sous vide

Just ordered an Echo Dot (for a great discount) today and I'm very excited to be able to turn on my sous vide from work, and maybe check the temp while away (not sure if I can do that just yet)

Re: Photobucket sux...What are you Using?

Imgur is my preference. Yes there is a big social networking aspect, but if all you're looking to do is host a photo, it's dead nuts simple.

Re: Sous vide

Pork loin is one of my favorite things to sous vide! So easy to do, stays moist and tender, then toss them on the grill to render any fat on the outside and sear things up. I also feel like the...

CAO Flathead

Anyone have opinions on these? I fell for the car theme marketing some time this winter and picked one of the lanceros (Piston) at the local lounge to make up for the cigar I brought myself. Planning...

Re: What beer or liquor are you drinking right now?

So, I love good stuff as much as the next guy, but I always keep a bottle of Jim Beam in the cabinet. It's nostalgic for me, what my grand dad drinks, what I drank in college, etc.

Stopped at the...
