Most don't. Simply better protection and the Cellophane breathes.

You may want to read through the beginner questions thread here

Try some both ways and determine how you like it. Don't let others sway you.

No disrespect, but it's probably the most over posted question on all cigar forums combined. Take a look, you'll find several here. As most will agree, store them as you get them.

Thanks Dennis, as usual I'm still confused ( situation normal). I'll try both ways with a smoke I know see if I notice a difference.

The cello wrapper keeps the humidity more constant. The cigars internal RH will not change as much if you keep these wrappers on. Also, it protects the cigar from any box damage that might occur to naked cigars.

Me too.

Sometimes I'm even too lazy to take the cello off before lighting.

It burns pretty colors and adds a nice kick...

I thought cello helped cigars maintain their moisture content. Why is this not true? Hey..I'm still learning :sh

Cellophane is actually made from plant fibers, so unlike a plastic product, it's permeable.

Re: Question from a newbie

I would agree that keeping the cello's on is the best way to store your smokes. Offers greater protection from damage. When I receive sticks without the cello's, I save up my used ones and slip them on. I have taken thousands of cello's off cigars and within a few months I found that the cigars (for me) do not do as well (aging, drying out, damage) and I replaced them with the cellos. Within a month or so, the one's replaced with the cello's seem to perk up (whatever that means) and I am happier with their appearance, feel, smell, and overall smoking qualities.
There are plenty of excellent smokes that are delivered without cellos and I am wondering what the cigar manufacturer knows by leaving them naked, or is it a financial decision not to add them?
