Default Cigar ashtray with lid?

Hey guys,
I figured I would put it out there. Does anyone know of a good cigar ashtray with a lid something for 1-2 cigars?

I made my own like 3months ago when I started Resin 3d printing. Before that, I was using a small wide lid mason jar and capping when done. The Key was to bottle up the smell as soon as I was done. This is intended for the inside. (Lets not wounder into the realm of filters etc. in this topic) Heat is coming...

I figured why not just print an ashtray around the mason jaw with four different size spots to lay cigars. It works pretty well, but it's bigger than I would like in my office. And in hindsight, removing the Mason jar to put the lid on is another step I would rather not do.

I still may decide to make a better version, but I figured I would push this out and see if anyone has seen something that may work before rebuilding the wheel again.

Stinky makes a version with a lid.

https://www.thompsoncigar.com/p/stin...10090302008005

There's also the Cigar Bobken

https://www.amazon.com/BOBKEN-Random.../dp/B005JSYIWO

Google brought up numerous choices as well, some better than others.

Thanks, @icehog3

Those were all cup holder ashtrays.
And those that were not cup holders seem to be for normal cigarettes

I saw some that have fans and stuff built in to suck up the smoke but nothing simple.

yeah, I did a quick look and found that most ashtrays that include cigar in the description have a limitation that makes them unsuitable for cigars. There was one that was close, but the rotating lid had a cigarette holder that could not accommodate a cigar.

Thanks for the searches guys..

Yhea even the holts is a cupholder one which is why they are all tall.

I may end up going back to the drawing board and print a new one.
Figured I would check.

One thing I learned from 3d printing is it's a rabbit hole.
Whenever it's done you will find more ways to improve next thing you know you have 30 prints laying around of the same thing..

I like this one if the clip could be widened to hold a cigar comfortably. Might be a good place to start.

It's not the ash that smells its the cigar butts, I used to have my in home cigar lounge down stairs. I could just step out the front door when I was done and toss the ashes and butts into the plants. I then had to move my lounge upstairs and inclose the loft. And I did not want to walk down stairs to just dump the ashtray. So at the end of the night I dump it into the toilet and flush, problem solved

Was trying not to get into the whole smell, filter what your doing etc..

Since we gone there.
I have an home office where I smoke need that AC out here.
My office door leads to the house I have weather stripping around it.
Once I start smoking I don't open that door.
I then throw a magnetic cover over the AC vent.
This is so it all don't leak to the house.

I also have a rabbit air filter people say it works and I will argue with them it works to get the smoke out of the room but not the ash smell it lingers

I also have a small 4" fan in a wall that mostly to push air out from my 3d prints but I will throw that on.

I do crack the window as well.
Then when I'm done with a cigar I toss it in the mason jar and close the lid to contain everything as I don't want to walk it through the house.

I also tried the actual Lampe candles which doesn't really help much.
I do have some oZone device coming Thursday that I'm going to try. You can't buy them here in LA Cali banned them but got it on eBay worth a try.

With all this said I still find that the ash smell lingers for a day or two.

Realy way would be Fan's pushing and out of the room but my house is a two-story and easy way of doing it. My office is also from of house facing to put more wholes in the wall wouldn't look nice from the street.

Only a thing past year with the whole covid and working from home lol.
Cigar smoker for over 20 years

Yup I said I didn't want to dive in this direction because always a lot to say and derails the true direction :P

Ok so thinking this direction now something smaller one cigar
Keeping it to a cohiba ashtray kinda design with maybe a push-in or drop-in lid for the area. Maybe put some kind of handle or something.

Still spitballing

Humm now that I look at it cigar area should be able to hold the but of the cigar as well not sure if it's big enough..

Yhea I've heard that it's banned in CA no one is allowed to sell them out here.
So I've never tried but I ordered a "IVETTO Ionizer Ozone Generator O3" off ebay. The office is only like 10x11' I'm hoping this will be the answer to the problem

But you can't run it while you're in the room etc..

How does your room smell the next morning do you have to air it out and for how long?

Wondering if I leave my 4" fan going overnight as well let that run for 30-45 min and maybe the fan will clear things out by the morning..

Not sure but it's my hope.

I've heard things from so many people on so many things I've tried and I wonder if ppl just don't smell the ash anymore lol.. I don't smell it unless I leave the room and come back in ..

In my downstairs lounge I used a "Living Air classic" EcoQuest https://ecoquestpurifiers.com/info/technology/
Purifier Ozone Ionizer Lots on ebay and some dif models also. (make sure it comes with the plates) I had it in the room and ran it 24/7 Smells like it does just after a thunder rain storm.
You could also go with Ozone Generator Air Purifier
Let it run per instructions with the room sealed and then air out the room. Most run 60 min on auto then shut off and after 30 min to hour it is safe to re-enter.

Thanks for chiming in and the tip. The unit I got is smaller hangs on the wall also has a motion sensor to know if people are in the room.

But then I'm just wondering if it will be a thing in the morning.
Say my kids get up before me and open the office door or go in there before I get to air it out. Again I think I'll leave that small fan on not sure how much it will do, but it may help.

Being that it is Stinky and it is Thompson's, I'd say you'd be good for at least a weekend.

I like the design. I'd use a rubber band to hold the lid on when transporting. Plus it will be easy to clean.

Wonder what the cost to print would be and how hard it would be to add a custom design to the top.
