Shaggy Foot - Cut it or Burn it?
So I have this big ol Johnny O, thanks to Hendy, sitting in my humidor I want to smoke.
The question is to cut off the shaggy foot before lighting the cigar or not? What say you brothers and sisters?

Re: Shaggy Foot - Cut it or Burn it?
I have always just lit the foot as is on this type of rolled cigar.

Jason, Jason, Jason, We answered this question sitting around the Buddha Bar at Doug's house??? Well you were pretty out of it with the jet lag from Texas...
SOooooooo---Burn it up gives you an appreciation for the flavors imparted by the wrapper when you transition into the full cigar. |

We did? Alcohol and jet lag are my co-counsels on this one. I don't remember that at all.

"Do a barrel roll!!" Please tell me that is a reference to Star Fox 64!
But my real vote is to light that baby up! |

Do a barrell roll, jump up and down six times, do the hokey pokey and turn yourself about, then light it up.

I would just light it, but make sure to toast it and get it burning evenly before you start smoking it

Re: Shaggy Foot - Cut it or Burn it?
I usually just light it as is. I have had a couple that were "excessively" shaggy. Some pieces sticking out an inch or more. I have clipped just a enough off to have the shaggy part somewhat together so nothing is in flames.

Re: Shaggy Foot - Cut it or Burn it?
I cut it then light the foot. The only cigar I've had with a shaggy foot is the El Mejor Emerald. I like that stick very much but the shaggy foot is a pain, so I snip it.
