Pinar Del Rio Reserva Limtada
Perplexing smoke,
Finally got try a Pinar Del Rio Reserva Limitada this morning, I may have ruined my taste buds for later smokes today. This started with a solid tobacco and pepper taste and quickly developed into a strong leather and cocoa/coffee flavor. These were not the mild flavors that had to be concentrated on to notice. These were strong and noticeable early on and remained throughout the experience. I usually like to divide my thoughts on a new smoke into thirds but this smoke for me did not indicate a clear change at thirds but in halves. These halves exhibited the pepper and leather throughout with the pepper reducing in strength and the leather increasing. I mentioned earlier a cocoa/coffee flavor and for me it was had to decide which it was as the tobacco never really exhibited a sweetness that would have really brought out the cocoa or the reduction of flavors that would allow the coffee to really develop. As I found myself nearing the end of my drive and my smoke this morning I must admit I was wishing I still had 30 mins or so just to sit and enjoy the flavors.

Thanks for the review.
I enjoy these. To me, these exhibit the perfect example of 'chewy' flavors. I find that I like them better on the dry-side. Couple days dry-boxing seems to help the burn, reduce any bitter tendencies and make the cigar a little more enjoyable. |

I did notice it was difficult to get started but the bitterness never occurred for me. That may be due to me leaving 30 mins early today and just taking my time driving half way across the state to work.

These start off a little bitter to me, but really build into an enjoyable smoke. I buy bundles of these and like to age them or at least let them rest for at least a month and it really improves the flavor. Thanks for reminding me to get another bundle. Running low.

I got mine on C-bid about 2 months ago. I am actually surprised I havent tried one sooner. I am trying to follow a 3 month rule and almost made it with these.

Hmmm...pretty unanimous consensus. Everything I've tried from this factory has been hit or miss, even returning bad boxes and having them replaced with another bad box.
What the hell...I'll grab a 5 pack. It's been a couple years. Maybe they've gotten their act together. Thanks for the review.
