Default Metal Cigar Bands - A New Trend?

I can see a new trend starting now... metal cigar bands on LE's and RE's. Perhaps we'll see 'precious metal' cigar bands in gold, silver, platinum??

I don't know what Macanudo was thinking, but they've sure upped the ante.

Hey, it's Macanudo.
They need neon signs in addition to the metal to get me to smoke them again.

I imagine that you could really mess up the wrapper if you try to remove the band when it is a tight fit...

Yeah, what you said. Seriously, let's concentrate on making a good product and forget about all the gimmicks to make it stand out on the shelf. If it's good people will seek it out rather than the product seeking out the customer.

I'm not going to say a metal band could never be cool looking, but that one sure is ugly! In fact, it looks more like something out of a socket set than a cigar band.

and furthermore, it's practically blank! I'm guessing somebody had the "brilliant" idea of using a metal band, but no thought was given as to what kind of design would actually appear on it.

"hey boss, why don't we put a metal band on these dog turds and sell them for double"

"Brilliant! make it happen"

"well we haven't come up with an actual design for the band yet..."

"like it matters, just leave it blank and write 'reserva' or 'limitada" or some other BS on there. Rich idiots will be lining up to buy them!"

not to mention the cigar itself looks like sh*t too!

I saw a video at Cigar Af's website that explains that the band is to hold onto while smoking it since he says that the leaves are "delicate". He says that they are going to patent it. Interesting, I guess that they felt this was the next step in their evolution of cigar bands.
