Casa Magna Dominus Magnus Caligula
Quick review on the Dominus Magnus Caligula Perfecto from Queseda Cigars. This is a 6 x 60 cigar with a unique shape. Both ends are finished in a torpedo fashion, with a slightly box pressed center. The color and shape are rugged and inviting - looks like a man's cigar! Aroma is light and earthy. After clipping both ends, draw was just right and toasting was quick and easy. Although the draw was perfect, keeping the monster lit and producing smoke was quite tough for the first inch, due to the reduced foot size. After the foot burned down to a larger diameter, things took off. The burn was wavy throughout and required a few touch-ups. No issues with keeping the stick lit and the ash held very well.
Flavors - not a lot and very one dimensional throughout. Lots of earthiness, grass and natural tobacco and not much more. This was a big cigar and burned for about an hour and a half. Honestly, I was ready to move onto another, more flavorful stick well before that. One thing to note is that the strength was full++. Not bad, but not worth the cost. IMHO, Not recommended. |
