Single cup espresso machine - thoughts
Looking to buy one when I travel any thoughts.
http://www.mypressi.com/ or http://www.illyusa.com/webapp/wcs/st...favorites_A042 Anyone use these or try espresso made from one of these? Last edited by K Baz; 09-21-2009 at 11:36 PM. |

Re: Single cup machine - thoughts
My thoughts are an Aeropress is so much cheaper then this that it is no competition. The water temp in this seems to be a problem since espresso is brewed in the range of 195-205f and you have to get the water in the device then brew you are losing temp the whole time.

I'm with Rob. Aeropress might not get you "espresso" in the truest sense (or in any sense), but it's a damn good shot in it's own right. And for the reasons Rob pointed out I might very well doubt the ability of the other portables to really make "espresso" anyway. Aeropress cleanup is a breeze and it's pretty forgiving as to water temp.

I barely grok the obvious

I'm with Evan who's with Rob. I add: AeroPress makes best home/portable, easiest, lowest cost almost-espresso around.
