Root Beer Floats!
I'm having a root beer float. It's tough to beat a good root beer float made with top quality root beer and vanilla ice cream. It seems like they are made for each other. It's been a while since I've had one, and I forgot how good they are.

Re: Root Beer Floats!
I guess I am the only dissenter. We used to get these over the summers we
would spend in Minnesota or Wisconsin. We'd drive up from Louisiana and discovered another world. But to me it's a waste of good ice cream. MILK is the only liquid I ever use on IC. But as a kid, this was the treat du jour over those long summers, so I drank and enjoyed it. But as an adult, I would never make one of these. Separately, I love both. |

I love them. A place near by called "Wild Willy's" makes them awesome. I prefer the chocolate ice cream soda, but my waist does not.

Re: Root Beer Floats!
A and W does make the best root beer, as far as what you can get nationally. Barq's is
more of a drinking root beer. And I am sure there are alot of people who would say that their local brewer or bottler makes a kick-ass one. If I had to choke down a root beer float, I would use A&W, lol. And I won't lie. If you put a RBF down in front of me I WOULD drink/eat it. |

Re: Root Beer Floats!
While Root Beer Floats are wonderful I prefer a Coke Float. That was always a big summer treat once a week or so growing up in the Louisiana Heat.

I love a good root beer float! I haven't had one in years but I did have an orange soda float a few weeks ago......tastes like a creamsicle.

Add some chocolate to that milk and you've got my favorite (and homemade french vanilla not BB)! I like root beer floats and other soda floats, but float a scoop of icecream in chocolate milk and you've got my favorite (easy) dessert.
Oh and the chocolate mix of choice.......Ovaltine.

I always preferred a Root Beer Whip. Same thing but nicely blended together.
