Default Looking For A Grill...

I’m looking for a good grill with a searing burner. It does not need a side burner or a rotisserie — those are “nice to haves”.

So far I’ve found the Napoleon Prestige P500RSIB (https://smile.amazon.com/Napoleon-Gr...P500RSIB&psc=1) and the Weber Summit S-470 (https://www.weber.com/US/en/grills/s...-470-gas-grill).

Any thoughts on these or any other grills?

I worked at a high end grill manufacturer, their grills started at $13,000. Even if I had unlimited money I would probably still go for a Weber. When I moved out of the city, I was gifted a Weber Genesis from 1995 that still works like a dream. They will have parts for them forever, and with a bit of TLC, they simply last.

I have a Weber Genesis bought in 2001. I replaced the angle irons that go over the burner. Otherwise, fine

Weber for sure. I've had two. The first lasted almost 20 years. Uncovered in rain and snow. Got a stainless one now and I expect to get a lot of years out of it.

I'd go with the Weber, Michael. While I don't have that model or even that series, I do have a 10 year old Genesis gasser that has a ton of hours on it and every problem I've experienced, they fixed / replaced under warranty without debate.

I have been digging my Chargriller that is half gas half charcoal. You get two seperate grills in one unit. Has a side burner which is great to light the chimenea.

I've started my outdoor kitchen build and I have been looking closely at Blaze Grills.
I like their warranty, and I like the cast stainless burners. I also like the option of swapping out a burner for an infrared sear burner.
If Weber made a true built in, I'd strongly consider it. If money was no option, I'd go with Lynx.
I'm also looking at Lynx Sedona grills, which are a step down from their premium line.

I love mine too and wouldn't trade it. But I don't like gas, a searing burner is irrelevant for me, and side box is essential. OP's needs seem to be the opposite.

Went a different direction... was not happy at the thought of dealing with propane tanks. I’ve had them run out mid-cook. That’s why my last several grills have been natural gas, which is not an option here.

At Costco today and saw that they had a deal on Kamado Joe’s, so much bought one

Going to cook some steaks tonight!

Bourbon and cigars come to mind.

I meant to take a pic, but then I had wine...

The steaks (New York’s from Costco) came out perfect. However, it’s been 30 or so years since I’ve had to light charcoal, so that took a little longer than expected

It's worth the investment into some fancier charcoals since these style grills use so little.

My father has a Kamodo Joe, has been using it regularly for at least 5 years and never had an issue (other than some unrelated contractors breaking a bunch of the parts when trying to move it, but Kamodo Joe had replacement parts available). I know I love the output

I've been using the Kamado Joe "Big Block Lump Charcoal", which is made from "Argentinian Hardwood". So far so good!
