Mexican Customs
Just a heads up for anyone traveling this way.
I go to Miami quite a bit for meetings and came back through last night. I always pick up a box or two at my favorite B&M in Doral and it has been years since I got the dreaded "red light" which means they open everything up. I had 2 boxes - Brickhouse and Arturo Fuentes. You are allowed 25 cigars - anything over that incurs a 496% tax. I can't complain - folks are just doing their job. He finds both boxes - asks me how much the Brickhouse costs - I say about 100 usd - he then explains the tax to be applied and asks how much the Fuentes cost? I tell him I am screwed and disappointed. He was cool and told me sees me every couple weeks and doesn't want to take them away - he continues just give me a value. I tell him they cost 7 usd and he applies the tax to that figure. So 30 minutes and 35 usd later I am on my way. Just thought I would share. Posted via Mobile Device |

Always nice to hear stories like that.... being that it worked out better than it could have.
