Cigar related "stuffy-ness"?
ok, this may sound a little odd, but hear me out.
for the past few days, ive noticed that my head is stuffed up (nose) and im blowing a ton of snot rockets. also, when i get off work at the B&M my ears feel cloudy, like im in the mountains pre-altitude pop. no loud music or noise at the shop either. now ive never had allergies (aside from food related) before this, so i cant say for sure that it is/isnt that. my eyes are fine. pollen is out a bit, getting that lovely yellow coat to every damn thing. ideas? im confused... |

Try using a sinus rinse or a netti-pot
It might help. I occasionally get stuffed up after smoking (I blow the smoke through my nose) and the sinus rinses help me. Just follow the directions carefully.

Re: Cigar related "stuffy-ness"?
i cant for the life of me retrohale. tried.
venting in that place...not too bad. theres a scrubber in the other room (2 room setup with walk thru) and we usually keep the front door open and fan on. im starting to think i have some kinda weird cold that isnt a normal cold for me. usually i only get sick once a year, and its bad when i do. that, and the fact i had no other symptoms made me think allergies. im too young to have allergies! |

I've noticed when I've smoked cigars, my head becomes stuffy also. I use a sinus rinse, and it really helps

Allergies are something you can have all your life; grow out of; or develop as an adult.
It sounds like you may have a little head/sinus cold going on. I love my netti pot. It's weird to get use to the water flowing through your nasal passage, but you'd be amazed at how well they work.

Re: Cigar related "stuffy-ness"?
I may get stuffed up after smoking but it is usually because the smoking has aggravated my allergies or I have a cold coming on. If I am healthy then smoking does not cause me any problems (other than draining my bank account )

Re: Cigar related "stuffy-ness"?
Sounds exactly like the head cold I'm getting over as well. I went to the Minute Clinic at CVS and the nurse-practitioner said it was a combination of Sinusitis (Sinus Infection) and Ear Infection in one ear (right, canal only not drum). When I blow my nose I can feel air pushing out the infected ear, but not the good ear. I was prescribed an antibiotic (Z-Pack), cough suppressant (Benzonatate), and an ear drop.
I put off the Dr visit for nearly a week trying to fight it with OTC with no luck. Even with antibiotics it's taken the better part of a week to get 95% better, and I'm still blowing my nose 10-20 times a day. There are a few people in my office who have let the same thing make its way into their chest and ended up with full-on bronchitis. I wouldn't try to fight it on your own. See a Dr or a Nurse Practitioner ASAP and hit it hard.... prescription antibiotic, ear drop, cough suppressant (if necessary) and 1-2 days solid rest. |

I have the worst sinuses and still get sinusitis all the time. Sinus irrigation helps tremendously.

I, too, live in Chucktown and can tell you the pollen is thick around here. My entire family and most of my staff are suffering from some level of sinus/chest allergies with snotty symptoms. You are never too young and you can all-of-a-sudden start experiencing allergies. I never had them growing up and around my mid-30s, I got sinus infections all the time. Welcome to spring time!
