Am I asking for too much?
My father wants to order a couple boxes of Shrapnel cigars. They are those little crappy cigars that come in boxes of 50, cheap as hell. Anyway, they are even cheaper atm, at $25 a box and $39 if you buy two boxes.
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...rapnelShrapnel So, I talked to my dad, he wants a box of each. Ordering online wont allow me to buy a box of each for $39, it wants $50 for both. So I called up CI and told them my situation, and they said that they cannot simply sell me a box of both for $39 dollars and that I would either have to buy two boxes of both and pay a discounted $78 or buy one of each at full price. Am I asking too much here? Is this seriously that big of a deal? I am almost positive that my B&M here in town, or even any other B&M anywhere, would make a swap like that without a problem. I can't believe it would be such an issue to simply grab a box of each, they are probably sitting right next to each other in the warehouse. /end of rant... Signed, a frustrated BOTL. |

Re: Am I asking for too much?
They have the right to sell their cigars at whatever price they want. Although it might sound "reasonable" to you that they alter their offer, they are under not obligation to see things your way. Give your dad the options, one of each for $50 or two of each for $78.

Re: Am I asking for too much?
Dwood, I have a full 'box' of one flavor and an open box, mostly full. I'll get pics, maybe we can work something out.
EDIT: I think I have an open box of the shrapnels. I have the flavored cigars that come in the small burlap sacks. PM me if interested.

Re: Am I asking for too much?
He has super cheap tastes. And for my dad or not, money is tight for anyone in the holiday season. I wish it wouldn't be that way, but I don't get paid enough and I got bills to pay as well as buy gifts. $11 bucks goes a long way for me.

I don't think the company is being unreasonable at all. While it would be a nice gesture for them to allow the split, I would hardly be mad at them for saying "no".

Re: Am I asking for too much?
I agree that your rant is unwarranted. However, please check out CI's auctions. These are both up there routinely and rarely go for more than 20$/bx. Your shipping more than CI, which is free, but I'll bet you still save a couple bucks. I'd bet if you bid up to 20per, you'll win both for less w/shipping than CI prices. Beauty is that you can set your max bid to what your CI tolerance price is and not lose.

Gotta go with the majority here. Its their company and they can charge and do business as they please. They are a large company so it would be hard to satisfy everyone.

Re: Am I asking for too much?
Get off Dwoods back everybody, geeze. Some of your guys' post come off so rude sometimes. Lighten up.
There's nothing wrong that you were asking for a simple task. But they didn't, I find that kind of disappointing, but oh well. Just buy your dad one of each at 25 a piece or check out the auction thing like someone mentioned. |

Re: Am I asking for too much?
I could understand your disappointment but I assume they have a legitimate reason as to why they can't do it. CI is a great company and I'm sure they'd do everything they could to help out.
Maybe try calling and speaking with a different associate? Might have gotten a rookie on the job. |
