Slightly disappointed, thought SA was coming out with a whiskey. Another company distilling whiskey from Boston Lager? I'll reserve judgement but I don't have high hopes.

Just sounds odd to me. I'm not sure about this one?

Sounds interesting. Has anyone tried a whiskey distilled from beer before? It can't be a first.

I'd think the hops would add something less than ideal to the mix, but that's just a guess. Plus beer has a much lower alcohol content than any sort of mash, so I'd think it would have to be distilled more to reach whiskey proof, not sure how that will affect it either. Like I said, no high hopes here.

A lot of the highest alcohol content "beers" (put in quotes because it's debatable whether or not they should be classified as beer) in the world are ice bochs. These are freeze distilled beers and my understanding is that most of them are nasty.

Alternatively, Sam Adams Utopias is pretty delicious and it's a extremely high alcohol content, barrel aged beer. So, maybe there's hope.

My assumption is that the beer is being distilled like any spirit and then barrel aged.
