Default Looking for a cigar not made anymore

I have been out of the cigar discussions for a long time, but years ago I bought a brand of cigar by the box and loved every minute of them.

I am posting this to see if any of you might know of a store in your area that may still have a box laying around, buried on the top shelf because they dont know what they are.

The brand was created by Eddie Ortega of Oliva Cigar and called Series X. Due to some other manufacturer thinking they could copyright a letter of the alphabet, Oliva ceased making the cigar because their war chest wasnt as big.

Below is a photo of the cigars, they were sold in a nice black box.

If you stumble across any, please let me know.

Aren't these what eventually became the Famous Nic3000s?

Thanks guys. I will try the famous nic3000 and see if they match up to the old series x. looks like some people claim they changed the blend. but for $2 a stick, worth a try.

BUT, if anyone finds some series X boxes, please let me know

George..... Man, you missed me by four days!! Oliva sold their stock unbanded to Famous to avoid the "X" issue with AF. Famous put them up as the 3000's, and once it was found that these were the X's, they went fairly fast. I grabbed two boxes while others were grabbing half a dozen or more. Wish I had grabbed a dozen. They aged very, very well. I gave away a box in ones and twos over the last 5-6 years, and smoked the last one I had 4 days ago. It was still a great cigar, but had mellowed out significantly. I have half a dozen of the third or forth release of the 3000's (what ever the release was that first had bands on the sticks). There were NOT the originals, but reported to be the same blend (who really knows). PM me your addy, and I'll send you a couple of those and you can have them to compare to what you order from Famous (understanding that the ones I send will have 4-5?? year aging on them).

So famous sells these now as the Famous Nic 3000? Has the blend changed or stayed the same?

I remember seeing these when they came out. Wish i would have bought some. As for the Famous 3000's, i got a 5er awhile back and really enjoyed them. They are a great cigar for the price.

Those were incredible cigars. While I have no idea of wether they were blown out or not bc of the trademark issues, I simpy could not imagine them being a $2 - $3 smoke on an ongoing basis - no way.

The old X were awesome.

Best,
JD

There are a few left.........I am convinced that the X eventually became the Master Blend. The shapes and feel, and the flavors ,all remind me of the master blends.I have even smoked both together and they are similar.
Of course now the X is gone............or is it?
