Default Famous nicaraguan selection 3000 - grand robusto

https://www.famous-smoke.com/brand/f...on-3000-cigars

So, rumor has it that when the Series X went defunct Oliva was sitting on a whole batch of them and famous came in and purchased the remaining stock for these bundles. They were sold as a one and done batch so we all bought up multiple bundles with this understanding and it quickly sold out. Famous has tried to recreate the original over the years and kept bringing it back. So, how does the famous 3000 stand up to the recent series X i reviewed? After smoking one ROTT i can tell you that they smoke great with similar flavors and just a tad more spice. That's to be expected when you consider the series X i smoked had been sitting for well over a decade so some mellowing was to be expected. So, let's review one today and see if it's worth you picking up a bundle.

Wrapper: Wrapper is a beautiful milk chocolate Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that literally has no veins. So, just about flawless and double capped.

Draw: Perfect milkshake draw with just enough resistance

Chocolate, earth, coffee, wood, peanut butter, creaminess, Spice, dry fruits, pepper, some campfire notes, A little toastiness to it,

earthiness, spice, chocolate, dry fruits, Savory steak-like flavors, peanut butter chewiness, woodiness, some hints of cashews, spiciness,

earthiness, cocoa, spiciness, pepper, dry fruits, everything is blending well right now with a steak-like savoriness that is very tasty and enjoyable, cashews, wood,

Ash/Burn: Had a minor touch up to begin with but after that burn was fairly even. Ash was packed nicely but not perfect but that's okay. It's didn't shed all over me like some cigars do.

Finish: This cigars comes from one of Esteli valleys Top tabacaleras and if i had my guess I'd say My Father makes these just by going off of the construction and flavor profiles. That's just a guess though. This batch of famous 3000 is as close to the series X as they've come in trying to recreate it as far as I'm concerned and for the price you can't go wrong here. It's been a while since i smoked a fresh Series X so it's hard to make a direct comparison but based on how these flavors might age I'd say this is pretty close. For the price and what you're getting you can't go wrong and I'd highly recommend these to anyone whether new or a seasoned smoker i think you'll enjoy these. Don't get a 5 pack just buy a bundle. I hope you enjoyed my little review and as these age i'll update you more on how they're smoking. God bless you all!

Great review. I just smoked a torpedo of these and got two bundles of the robustos in the mail yesterday.

The 3000s have that unusual flat / rounded shape. They would need specific cigar molds to make and that might provide a clue on their source. Didn’t you write that you bought some MB3s recently?

The obvious answer is Oliva considering they rolled the series X but i'm not fully convinced with these and I've had other oval shaped/box pressed cigars like these from other manufacturers. You may be right but i'm not 100% there yet. God bless you!

I'm smoking another one of these and am Just impressed by the flavor and quality of these cigars. They look like they belong in a box. The flavors are that spicy chocolate that I love and more. I'm really surprised these haven't sold out yet. For the price these really are a steal. God bless you all!

Thanks for the review. It reminded me that I have had almost a full bundle of torpedoes resting nekkid for several years. Time to smoke one!

How were they? I'm smoking a pretty old torpedo (7 or 8 yrs?) and it's pretty damn good! Still has a lot of 'strength' but it's smooth through the nose.

Honestly I can’t remember what the flavor profile was, but I enjoyed them. Reminds me I need to buy more.
