New cigar
I bought a couple of Robustos from a local guy. He doesn't carry most name brands because he doesn't want to pay the high taxes. The cigar seem to be a standard robusto with a dark brown wrapper, but there is lighter colored wrapper in a spiral around the cigar. No cigar band.
Any ideas as to the brand? |

Re: New cigar
if its just a thin lighter wrapper twisting around it then it sounds like a CAO America, if its half and half then it could be a Taboo Twist. Pics will help determine it

Re: New cigar
Looks like a barberpole cigar. Unfortunately without a band or the person telling you where he got it from there is no way to tell you exactly what it is.

Taboo Twists are banded..could be a barberpole knockout of some sort.

Re: New cigar
Taxes are the same on all cigars, sounds like you are being fed a harmless bill of goods.
Looks good though. Probably a talented person trying to help another person and have neither of them pay taxes, lol...Maybe standard sales tax. |

If it smokes well and isn't too expensive, then I say buy more and get the name of the manufacturer in case you want to order them online or in bulk from the store. |

Re: New cigar
Probably would help if you had/have the ring gauge and length. I'm sure with that information and about 10 minutes on google you could determine if it's a custom roll or a normal brand name cigar.

I think its a La Harencia Cubana Dos Capas. I picked up a bundle of them from cigar.com during a weekend blitz a few weeks ago. Your cigar looks exactly like mine only I have bands.

Re: New cigar
Smoked something similar that was drop shipped blind to my local B&M in attempt to increase sales. Owner gave them out to those around the table that day to give our opinions (all there were regulars). Not to scare you, but the smoke was horrible. Hopefully yours is better.

To the OP I'd say it is exactly what he purports it to be a house blend barber pole |
