Stuck in a Rut
You know how we inmates are. We find a cigar we like or maybe a couple of cigars and that's what we smoke most of the time. Our "go to" as we say.
But sometimes we get stuck in a rut and need a change. I branched out and tried a 5 Vegas Limitada 2008 today. It was a good smoke, not a great smoke but I will try it again. I also tried the Punch Champion, which I enjoyed and will keep in my rotation. Any other inmates have a recommendation on a must try cigar? (I don't mean a super premium smoke now, we all know X's and Anejo's are great and Pepin's too. Just something we've all seen but maybe never tried.) |

Re: Stuck in a Rut
Glad you liked the Champion I'm a sucker for a perfecto
The other punch that is a standby for me is the London club maduro. I like the RP vintage '90 and the sun grown is very nice as well. I've also been enjoying the Oliva Serie G quite a bit, particularly the maduros. Happy hunting!

You didn't give a price parameter, so I'll throw out
a few ideas in the $3-6 range in no particular order: Punch Gran Puro Saint Luis Rey El Rey del Mundo Partagas Classic or Spanish Rosado Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 or 1992 Perdomo ESV 1991 Padron 2000 Carlos Torano Exodus (Gold) 1959 TTT Trinidad

Re: Stuck in a Rut
There's been some good smokes mentioned but one I haven't seen too many folks talk about, that I enjoy, is Onyx reserve.

Re: Stuck in a Rut
They're so many...try:
1. Padron 3000 2. Oliva Serie G, O or V (any Oliva really) 3. Torano 1959, Virtuoso 4. CAO Brazilia 5. Sancho Panza Double Maduro 6. 601 Red That should get you started. I've got so many I like and so many I've not tried yet...I don't have time for "ruts". |

Re: Stuck in a Rut
That Punch Champion is pretty tasty.
Value smokes I feel confident referring ($3-$6): RyJ Habana Reserve robusto Torano Exodus 1959 (gold, perfecto) CAO Brazilia Gol! The previously mentioned HdM Dark Sumatras have been good. I picked up a gift box of 8 sticks for $20 at JR a while back -- good value. |
